Ep. 40: The Grittiest, Hottest VP Sales in Silicon Slopes

Skye PoVey turned down a full scholarship at Brown University to play football at a junior college in rural Utah (with a practice field next to a turkey farm).

His early 20s included a two-year mission trip in Mexico, a walk-on spot with the BYU football team, a meteoric rise to ‘campus folk hero’ status, and a brief stint with the Green Bay Packers.

In 2014, Skye joined Weave as a Jr. Account Executive - the 7th sales rep on a fledgling startup with minimal process or direction.

Two years later, he’s helping Weave enter 2018 at a torrid revenue growth rate. See why Skye believes every sales culture should empower people to become leaders themselves. Plus. see why he's listed his defining sales leadership principles as follows:

  • Culture and Leadership
  • Training and Processes
  • Recruiting and Managing Talent (in that order)

Lastly, hear Skye share his go-to personal strategies for managing his time, prioritizing tasks, and staying proactive versus reactive by using color-coded visual blocks on his calendar.
